René. Being unusually badass.

You wouldn't know she's a goofy and naive young lady.

But actually, I felt bad that I doodle Amadeo and all of his "I'm so gorgeous lolz"-ness, so I wanted to draw René looking epic. Also, I wanted to practice her hair... for some reason, it also gives me troubles in the comic :stare:

I am going to finish this, though (ink it and stuff) and maybe make it the new Chapter 1 cover, since the current is a big ball of "mehhhhhh" fav.me/d6ss8ar

Are her arms too short? I can't tell... her shoulders are raised slightly, but it seems like her arms are too short........... hmmmmmmm......

Ooo, she looks so awesome. And epic, especially with her hair laying that way.

I know people already commented about her arms (since you asked)... So I won't say anything. x3

I like the pose and the serious look on her face. (Hair is just tough in general.  It looks all harmless, but it beats me up as I draw it lately.)

I put my arms by my sides to compare and her hands would fall in the right spot by her thighs.  So it's not arm length.  My suspicion is that the top of her arm near her shoulder might need to be a bit thicker/wider.  (It is on me by quite a bit, but I'm on the chubby side - not muscular like her.)  Or trimming down the back/shoulder.  It's large compared to her arm.  I'm not sure if those are the ticket, but they're what I think I see.  Have you tried looking in the mirror at a similar pose?

I took a break from this for a while, and after coming back to it, I think you might be right. I'm gonna go over it with some basic skeletal structure later, and I think that will help me fix some problems. :D

Thaaanks!

(I did look at myself in the mirror once, but I was all bundled up in a hoodie because of the cold, so I couldn't really see the form XD )

Looks as though she's warming up for a fight
the right arm looks slightly off, but maybe that's just me

I feel that indent on the shading of the boobs should be a little more to the right. Same with the thing that indicated the middle of her trousers^^ her arms are definitely not too short, if anything too long.. are those fingerless gloves? Because if they are her hand is separated from her wrist by quite a bit xD I guess you could then also push the curve of her back a little more.. or so to say since you would if you follow my advice have her hips face to the right from our view (at least mostly) bump out her but.. by denting in whatever is above it.

Right now she looks rather sturdy.. and if you hadn't said so in the description and if not for the boobs I'd have thought it was a guy. (Yeah arm are rather small for a guy, too xD) I do also think you could size the head up a bit, wouldn't hurt it!

Btw, you said you wanted to practice her hair.. try finding the top of her head and place the whirl there and not so much to the right, that looks just weird. Also with the angle of her head she's missing quite a bit of her head its backside.

Hope I could help you and that you're able to figure out what I meant! If not, I could do a little overpaint for you if you don't mind and don't know quite exactly know what I mean.

Cheers!

Since I'll be inking this later, I'll keep the shading in mind!

I see what you mean about the wrists :) I can fix that easy :D

I actually do want her to have a more sturdy build. She used to have a more narrow waist (which I think is what you were suggesting?) but I really like drawing her a bit more stocky :) I think her actual hips are in almost the right place (just bit too small), but her belt buckle is in the wrong place. To figure it out, I think I'm going to actually resize it to incorporate the legs (just so I know where her hips are going XD )

I'll see about the hair. I'm still experimenting with her style :) (But I always leave off that back of the head!! Bad habits!)

Thanks again for your wonderful tips :)
